Bye for Now
Hi, Tumblr. I’ve neglected you for so long.
I started this blog as a visual bookmarking tool for all the design and art that has caught my eye over the last few years. I started it in school during one all-nighter, around 5AM in the UTC Fine Arts Center three years ago.
I may pick this up again one day. For now, I’ll be writing and sharing links about design over at http://laurahelenwinn-design.tumblr.com/. I hope you follow me there.
Web Typography = Photographic Typography
I’m comparing web fonts to a relevant historical model, the transition from metal to photographic type. This excerpt on photo-type is blowing my mind.

“And maybe if we’re lucky, this photo will also become iconic, a reminder that we finally let the people who are willing to die for our safety kiss whoever they want.”

"When someone has to tell you to put your brushes down at night and you can’t wait to start again in the morning, that’s how you know you’re doing what you love."

By this definition, I definitely loved the original Sims.
I don’t like the way the government handles healthcare/taxes/education/gun control/energy/anything.
But, unless I was downloading the Metallica it usually left me alone on the internet.
